Sequencing.com VCF → Raw Data Converter
Convert your Sequencing.com VCF file to raw data format for use on Genetic Lifehacks.
This tool has currently only been tested with Sequencing.com files. It may not work correctly for other companies’ data files — there are many different VCF file formats and reference genomes used by WGS companies.
Directions:
- Download the VCF file from Sequencing.com that ends in snp-indel.genome.vcf.gz. It must be this VCF file (there are several to choose from).
- Drop your VCF file on the green square below.
- Click Convert
- When completed (it takes a minute), click the Download .txt button
- Go to the Member Dashboard and connect to your new data file.
NOTE: The insertions and deletions will show up as alleles instead of I or D.

Note:
This is still a work in progress — come back and convert your VCF file again at a later date if you notice that it is missing any rs ids. (The “i” numbers will be blank, but those IDs are also covered by an RS ID number.)
