When you connect your file, it’s read inside your own browser, on your own device. We never receive it, never see it, and never store it. There’s no account required to test, no copy sitting on a server somewhere, and nothing for a future buyer or hacker to take. When you close the tab, it’s gone. Will my file work?

Most raw data files work — and the sample report will tell you for sure in a second.

Files that work well:

• 23andMe (v3, v4, and v5)
• AncestryDNA (files before March 2026 cover the most; newer ones still work but with less coverage)
• MyHeritage, TellMeGen, Sequencing.com ultimate compatibility file, SelfDecode, 24genetics, and similar raw data formats

Files that need conversion first:

• Whole-genome data (VCF or BAM)

Files that won’t work:

• Data downloads that just contain a company’s own report SNPs, rather than a full raw file (some companies do this to pretend they are giving you the raw data)
• Single-purpose tests (e.g., a cancer-only or pharmacogenetics-only panel) — these don’t include enough of the variants our reports use to make it worthwhile to have a membership

Is testing my file really free? Yes. Checking compatibility and viewing your sample report costs nothing and doesn’t require an account. You only pay if you choose to unlock the full library.

Is my genetic data safe? It’s safer here than almost anywhere else. Your file is read locally in your browser — we never receive it, store it, or sell it. There’s nothing on our servers for anyone to take.

What if my file doesn’t work? The sample report will show you instantly, so you’ll know before paying. If you join and then discover your file isn’t compatible, email us within a week for a full refund.

Do I need to take a new DNA test? No. If you’ve already tested with 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, or most other services, your existing raw data file is all you need.
